Project description:
COVID19 outbreak worldwide in 2020 has changed the word since then, which not only put danger for the life and security of Europe and the world, but definitely became a threat to European values and how Europe is perceived. Moreover, 2020 was also marked with the Brexit being finalized which also has quite an impact on youth and the image of Europe amid raising Euroscepticism. Apart from that, the war in Ukraine, refugee situation and the huge economical crisis that followed together with the energy crisis across Europe led to anti EU rhetoric and propaganda, rise of far right parties and movements, undermining EU image, perception and values. Since the covid19 outbreak, those anti-EU movements and rhetoric and anti EU propaganda have been becoming stronger, especially in some countries with powerful proRussion parties and propaganda. The protrusion propaganda trend has increased tremendously since the Russian invasion and it is also undermining the trust of Europeans in the EU and its future. So young people can easily getting confused by this propaganda and Erasmus plus is a tool needed more than ever now to promote EU vision, values and citizenship and foster sense of belonging of young people to those values. We believe that young people are the future of Europe so it is quite important that they fully understand the concept of EU, its vision, the values incorporated that are the ones connecting all of us and we need to hold on to in difficult time so we take this project as opportunity to foster understanding of EU concepts and values as well as sense of belonging of young people to those ideas. The general focus of the Active Citizens 4 European Solidarity is to ensure understanding of the European idea, European citizenship and values and encourage sense belonging to the European family as well as promote volunteering as a value and way of young people being active part of civil society. It is crucial in those difficult times for young people across Europe to understand the true meaning of European solidarity.
The project objectives are:
– provide understanding of the European Union and European citizenship concept by young people
-Encourage sense of belonging to the principles of the European Union and its values
-foster volunteering and active participation of young people in civil society
-raise awareness among young people the opportunities given by Erasmus+ program and European solidarity corps and encourage their participation
Moreover, the exchange will also promote sense of belonging to Europe, understanding of European values and concept of European citizenship as well sense of belonging to that.
