So far the period 2020-2022 has been extraordinary year in relation to COVID19 outbreak worldwide which not only put danger for the life and security of Europe and the world, but definitely became a threat to European values and how Europe is perceived. Moreover, 2020 is also marked with the Brexit being finalised which also has quite an impact on youth and the image of Europe amid raising euroscepticism. Young people from few countries came together to create the exchange Youth 4 Solidarity to encourage better understanding of Europe and especially of European solidarity and volunteering. The project is a response to propaganda in many countries of anti European movements in the last few months which used the Corona virus outbreak and Brexit to bring back nationalism, anti multiculturalism and anti solidarity. This propaganda aimed at destroying the image of European concept and the belief in the Union as a whole. Moreover, by implementing the project we want to encourage volunteering spirit among young people as a symbol of solidarity in the communities. The project objectives are:
-to introduce the concept of European citizenship and EU
-bring European values and principles closer to participants of the project
-promote volunteering and solidarity as nowadays it’s really important to be aware
– Building the civil society by building main pillars such as volunteering, active citizenship and participation
-bring Erasmus+ and other funding opportunities that young people can benefit from closer to them
Carrying out this project is already a significant impact in itself, as the theme of the project is precisely that of putting ourselves at the service of the communities, and this is what we young people do on a daily basis, especially during the organization and implementation of Erasmus+ or ESC projects. For the young protagonists of this project, the most important impact will be that generated by the exchange of experiences between them, as well as being able to acquire dozens and dozens of valuable information on volunteering and solidarity, the indisputable cornerstone of the European Union. In this way we will be able to strengthen the idea of a united Europe, giving the participants the opportunity to get involved again after the project in voluntary activities both locally and internationally. During the project the participants will have the opportunity to exchange opinions and get to know people from different backgrounds, receive interesting information about volunteering, the different international mobility programmes, acquire new knowledge and skills that they can put into practice after the project such as: language skills (the official language during the project will be English, but they will also be able to discover the other languages of the participating groups), civic and social, communication and presentation skills (for example through the sessions and workshops they will organize themselves), skills and information related to the topic of the project itself (understanding the difference between volunteering and work, how to discover new volunteering opportunities, what are the types of volunteering and the differences in each country, how to take part in a the project and the different activities in the program etc).
TARGET GROUP:
- Young people between 16-30 years old with no age limit for the leader
- Motivated to participate in the project
They are NOT on service under European Solidarity Corps at the moment of the activity
PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES: Bulgaria , The Netherlands, Italy , Romania, Slovakia , Turkey
PRACTICAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Accomodation
Accomodation and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the duration of the activities will be covered by the receiving organzation PROVISION International. All participants will be accomodated in Royal Bansko aparthotel , located in Bansko Bulgaria at the follwoing address: ul. “Kosherinata” 2770, Bansko, Bulgaria
COVID-19 measures:
We strongly recommend all participants to be vaccinated.
