There are a lot of NGOs in Europe that are doing their best to support and help the migrants and refugees. However, it is usually not enough so the people try to start their own businesses and find the job on their own. In this article we will present you some examples of succesfull refugees and migrants stories.
In Barcelona, Spain, there are a lot of people called Top Manta. They are mostly illegal immigrants from Africa who sell fake products near crowded places in the city (e.g. beach, squares). You can buy there whatever you want, however they sell it illegally. As we can read at their website, this company offers “legal clothes produced by illegal people”. There are a lot of signs in the city that say if you buy something from Top Manta you might be fined 50 euros.
Among this community there were people who wanted to change their image and their life. They created their own clothing brand called “Top Manta. True clothes” in 2017. They design and sew their products such as: T-shirts, blouses, masks etc. Now they have their association and store located in Barcelona. Also, if someone is interested, may buy their clothes in the online shop. The prices are very affordable and the whole money spent on Top Manta T-shirts supports this Idea.
