Active Youth for Europe was a partner in the project Hate is not my faith-a training course in Bulgaria, gathering to tackle issues of hate speech and human rights violations. Four youth workers from our organization took part in the project and acquired coptemce and knowledge set in combating hate speech online, creating powerful campaigns promoting human rights which developed also our organizational capacity in the field. After the mobility in Bulgaria the 3 youth workers organized few activities in our local community to raise the visibility of the raising hate speech among youth, to raise awareness on human rights violations and involve local young people. One fo the activities was a one day workshop with our local partner youth organization-the youth council/Forum Di Giovanni/ . The workshop started with world café method-enabling local youth leaders from the forum discuss different aspects of human rights and hate speech, then there was a discussion about hate speech and freedom of expression. The afternoon was dedicated to sharing tools, campaigns, best practices and examples how to report and combat hate speech. Another activity that was organized again in cooperation with the local youth Council was an info day on hate speech and human rights in Castellamare di Stabia, ending with a flashmob of Tolerance.
