With project activities we aim to achieve first of all awareness, knowledge and understanding of Human rights, human rights protection and violation, hate speech and discrimination as human right violations but also to present different forms of participatory theatre as a way to empower youth to fight social injustice and stand up for human rights. Through the project participants will learn different concepts related to human rights, discrimination and hate speech, distinguish between the concepts, to detect human rights violations and thus to be more effective in counteracting hate speech and discrimination.
The project will also be raising awareness on the causes of hate speech and discrimination as well as:
– Understanding the notions of human rights; learning about human rights organizations, important documents, strategies and policies protecting human rights.
– Ability to recognize violations of human rights;
– Ability to protect, promote and protect human rights
Trough the participatory theatre approaches we will tackle the issues of Human rights violations and empower youth to stand up for those rights. During the exchange the groups will explore and understand better human rights, the reasons and effect of discrimination, will understand what hate speech and social injustice are, but most of all will get empowered to not be only audience but spectators. Why theatre. By working through theatre, both performers and spectators can engage difficult questions in a safe space. Theatre is also an ideal instrument to give witness to human rights violations. It is also an excellent tool for education and awareness raising and most of all for empowering people to stand up for human rights. The main objectives of the project proposal are: -To encourage understanding and knowledge of young people about Human rights and human rights violations
– To raise awareness among young people about discrimination, hate speech and cyberbullying as human rights violations
-to present techniques of Participatory theatre as a way for youth to stand up for human rights
-to empower youth to tackle human rights violations trough participatory approach
Our exchange is tackling very serious issues such as human right violation, discrimination, hate speech. But most of all the overall project`s aim is raise awareness not only on those topics but on young people`s role in human rights protection. The exchange focuses on changing attitudes, understanding the role of young people themselves as ambassadors of human rights and their active involvement in the protection of human rights through participatory theatre that empowers social change.
TARGET GROUP:
- -Young people between 18-30 years old with no age limit for the leader
- -Motivated to participate in the project
- -They are NOT on service under European Solidarity Corps at the moment of the activity
PARTICIPATING COUNTRIES: Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Romania, Hungary and Turkey

Accomodation:
Accomodation and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the duration of the activities will be covered by the receiving organzation PROVISION International. All participants will be accomodated in Royal Bansko aparthotel , located in Bansko Bulgaria at the follwoing address: ul. “Kosherinata” 2770, Bansko, Bulgaria
COVID-19 measures:
We strongly recommend bulgarian participants to be vaccinated.
