Digital Guide “EYOUth Vote”

During the youth exchange the participants have created the current digital guide as outcome of the project that covers some of the following topics:

What is the Youth Vote?

The youth vote refers to the involvement of young people, typically aged 18 to 29, in electoral processes. This demographic can influence election outcomes and shape political agendas by advocating for policies that reflect their concerns and holding elected officials accountable.

Why is Youth Vote Important?

Youth voting allows young people to influence the direction of their communities and countries, promoting positive change and progress. Higher youth participation helps create a more inclusive and representative democracy, ensuring diverse voices are heard in decision-making processes.

Project Aim

The EYOUth Vote project, part of the Erasmus+ program, aims to exchange knowledge and experiences among EU youth, emphasizing the importance of voting and fostering active citizenship. It addresses the declining political participation of young people and ensures their interests are represented in policy-making.

Daily Activities and Summary

The project includes various activities to enhance participants’ self-confidence and awareness, such as city orientations, European Parliament simulations, youth debates, and intercultural nights. Through these activities, participants gain a deeper understanding of different cultures, EU institutions, and the importance of their political engagement.

Summary and Outcomes

Key outcomes of the project include improved language and teamwork skills, enhanced knowledge of EU institutions, increased awareness of youth influence on the EU’s future, and the development of leadership, organizational, communication, and social skills.

Key Findings

The project identifies trends in youth disengagement, such as lack of education on social subjects and political participation barriers. It emphasizes the need to involve more young people in social and political life to ensure a stable and predictable future for the EU.

Erasmus+ Opportunities

Erasmus+ offers various opportunities for students, young entrepreneurs, and recent graduates to gain practical experience, enhance skills, and promote intercultural understanding through mobility programs, internships, and volunteering.

The EYOUth Vote project aims to increase youth participation in European political activities, address barriers to participation, and foster a sense of responsibility and empowerment among young people.
