On November 21, Italian participants from the NextGen MediaWatch project hosted a follow-up event in Santa Maria La Carrita, aimed at engaging local youth aged 18–27 in a discussion about media literacy and Erasmus+ opportunities.
The evening session, held at a local library, began at 8:30 PM and lasted an hour. During the meeting, the hosts shared insights from their training course in Bulgaria, which focused on combating fake news and enhancing critical thinking. Attendees learned about key topics such as identifying deepfakes and verifying information sources, essential skills in the age of disinformation.
To make the session interactive, the participants introduced games from the project, encouraging attendees to engage actively while learning. The activities sparked curiosity and led to a lively discussion, with attendees asking about the hosts’ experiences in Bulgaria and how they could participate in similar opportunities through Erasmus+.
This dissemination activity not only strengthened the local community’s understanding of media literacy but also inspired attendees to explore educational initiatives like Erasmus+, contributing to the broader mission of combating fake news through informed youth engagement.
