On November 28, 2024, the Turkish team from the NextGen MediaWatch project organized a special presentation at the Association for the Hearing Impaired. The session was tailored to ensure the concepts of media literacy were accessible and relevant to the audience’s unique needs.
The team shared insights from their training course, focusing on key aspects of identifying misinformation and applying fact-checking techniques. To ensure the message was clear and impactful, the concepts were presented in a manner adapted to the hearing-impaired audience’s communication style, making the session inclusive and engaging.
This meaningful experience not only highlighted the importance of media literacy but also emphasized the need for tailored approaches in reaching diverse communities. It was a testament to how educational initiatives can bridge gaps and empower individuals to navigate the complexities of the digital age.
