1. What motivated you to join this youth exchange “Mission Youth Mental Health”?
I have always been interested in psychology and health in general, especially in researching human relationships and the mental reflections connected to them. I joined this project because I wanted to improve myself in this field and deepen my understanding of mental health. In addition, the social and cultural aspects of Erasmus+ projects make me feel more confident and happier in life. I knew that this project would bring me both personal growth and joy, while allowing me to engage meaningfully with a topic that truly interests me.
2. What was the most interesting thing you learned during the project? How will you use it?
One of the most interesting things I learned during the project was how similar we are as Balkan countries, as well as with Italy, in terms of culture, values, and perspectives on mental health. Gaining this awareness helped me build a much deeper cultural understanding of these countries, which I will carry with me as valuable general knowledge throughout my life. I was especially surprised to learn that in Serbia there is a city where many people speak Turkish, which highlighted the strong cultural connections between our regions.
3. Which activity or session did you enjoy the most, and why?
The activity I enjoyed the most was filling in a personal journal related to our mental health and reflecting on it using the PERMA psychology model in pairs. This activity was highly interactive, based on sharing and listening, and at the same time very calm and peaceful. It helped me connect more deeply with my inner self and better understand my thoughts and emotions. For me, it was one of the most meaningful experiences of the project.
4. How will you use the knowledge and skills from this project in your work back home?
I plan to share my experience from the project with my friends and family, especially the aspects that might surprise them and raise their interest in mental health. I will also use some of the methods and games we learned in both my personal and formal life. In particular, I plan to introduce meditation activities to my friends, as I believe these practices can be very helpful for mental well-being and self-awareness.
