Not everyone is familiar with the terms of “ ENERGIZERS AND ICE-BREAKING GAMES”, so what are they?
An energizer is a brief activity that is intended to increase energy in a group by engaging them in physical activity, laughter, or in ways that engage the members cognitively (problem-solving). They can be used with any group, including during training and youth exchange.
Benefits:
Energizers and icebreakers are great for team building, getting to know each other, getting people to think about a specific topic, or simply just to wake up a sleepy and tired group. Some things to consider when using energizers: Try to use energizers frequently during a workshop or meeting.
We have some examples of energizer, the first one that we are going to present is Ninja. Firstly, the group makes a circle and the main scope of the game is to catch the others hands. When you move you have to remain in the same position and if someone catches your hand you are out.
Another example is an energizer that is going to make your knees burn. You are supposed to put chairs in a circle, after that all the participants sit on each others laps. The next step requires someone to take all the chairs out. So the players will sit with their back on someones knees and so on.
Here is a site in which you could find a big variety of them:
